Ingredients for the perfect Bolognese

You will need: 125 grams of butter, some olive oil, 2 onions, 3 carrots, 3 stalks of celery, 1 kilo of beef, some white wine, 250 milliliters of milk, 1.5 cans of tomatoes, 2 garlic cloves, salt and pepper. 1 package of spaghetti, 250 grams of grated cheese.

Here’s how it works: First, heat a frying pan with olive oil. Wash and cut the onion, carrot and celery into small cubes. Cook the vegetables in butter and olive oil until soft. This should happen on low heat and very slowly. Vegetables should be simmered, not cooked.

Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, sauté the beef until tender. Deglaze with white wine and add to the milk. Mix well. Then add the tomatoes and bring everything to a boil. Now add the vegetable mixture. Peel and mince the garlic cloves and add to the sauce.

Now everything should cook – and for a long time! For Bolognese, it is best for four to five hours on low heat. If necessary, a little water or broth can sometimes be added if it is too runny.
