What ingredients are needed for golden milk with orange juice?

Orange juice is the healthiest when you squeeze it fresh. The versions from the supermarket are also interesting, but they are heated at a high temperature and thus lose some vitamins. To compensate for this, many juices are re-added with vitamins. The DIY version is healthier and more natural.
You can meet your daily requirement of vitamin C with two to three fresh oranges. This is important for a healthy immune system, strong bones and connective tissue. You can also find a lot of magnesium and calcium in citrus fruits.
There are many recipes for golden milk – with orange juice, with milk, with oat milk, etc. But what they all have in common is a good portion of turmeric. And for good reason: Because turmeric is very healthy and good for our immune system.
The active substance curcumin is anti-inflammatory and is therefore used to prevent many diseases. Yellow powder has an antioxidant effect and works against free radicals that damage our cells. It is also said to greatly reduce the risk of brain diseases.

This is how you can prepare golden milk with orange juice

Here’s the long version with step-by-step instructions. The recipe is enough for one bottle.
- 3-8 oranges
- 1 cm of ginger
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp cardamom
- 1 clove of pepper
- Favorites: honey and coconut oil
Also: blender or food processor, tall mixing bowl, optional: garlic press
1. Peel the oranges
3-8 oranges is a very vague number. However, it is difficult to determine the correct amount of fruit juice. In total, you should get 200 to 250 ml of orange juice. Sometimes two oranges are enough.
Cut the oranges in half and grate them. The fresher you prepare the orange juice, the healthier the drink will be. If you want, you can then run the liquid through a sieve to remove the pulp.
Put the milk in a tall container so we can mix it with the other ingredients right away.
You can use a food processor or an immersion blender. Personally, I prefer the immersion blender because it is less washing up.
Donation: If you want to drink the golden milk as a drink, put the oranges in the refrigerator an hour before.
Peel about 1 cm of fresh ginger root. The best way to do this is to use a teaspoon and simply remove the leaf.
Put the ginger in a garlic press to extract the juice from the bulb. If you use a food processor, you can skip this step.
Now the carrot juice is added to the orange juice.
Tip: If you want, you can also mix ginger powder with orange juice for golden milk. About 1/2 cup is enough for it.
3. Season of golden milk
Add the cloves, cinnamon, cardamom and pepper to the orange juice.
Mix the ingredients on the highest setting. This not only mixes the ingredients, the milk also creates a nice foam.
4. Add optional ingredients
If you want, you can add honey and coconut oil now. You need to heat these two ingredients briefly in the microwave so that they become moist and better mixed with the rest of the ingredients.
Then clear the oyster juice again.
Pour the golden milk into a glass with orange juice and drink it immediately. If you want to drink it later, don’t forget to stir the ingredients again with a spoon.
Can you drink golden milk in the evening?
You don’t have to finish the whole drink now. If you want, you can drink golden milk in the evening before going to bed. All ingredients have a calming effect and are not stimulants.
However, many people have the problem that they do not tolerate orange juice and fresh fruit very well before bed. Here the version with milk will be clearly better.
Can you drink Golden Milk every day?
Stimulating spices increase metabolism and an orange provides vitamin C. Since golden milk does not contain sugar and other unhealthy ingredients, you can drink it in normal amounts every day. A glass of 150 to 200 milliliters a day is perfectly fine.
But notice how your stomach reacts to fresh orange juice. Some stomachs are very sensitive to it and therefore it should not be eaten daily.

On hot days, the drink that comes from the refrigerator is best chilled. You should only add the coconut oil at the end, otherwise it will dry out in the drink. Or you just leave it.
